PROGRAM/PROJECT OBJECTIVE

The location was perfect, but the house was dated and undersized. Thus began an extensive renovation which allowed the client to keep their lakefront site yet obtain the second home they really wanted. The original second floor was removed along with most of the first floor in order to expand the plan and take into account the expansive lake views from almost every room. The interior was redone in painted wood to achieve a warm beach house feel. Barrel vaulted ceilings helped create spacious rooms while expansive sliding glass doors along the lakeside helped open the house to the exterior. Interior materials were selected to enhance the feel of permanence and old world quality. The entire west wall of the third level observation room opens to the exterior, allowing incredible panoramic lake views and access to the roof top patio. The client was very involved with the interior material selection helping to create a personalized space which is both unique and tasteful.
